Publication Announcement: A novel neuroprotective agent holds promise against neurodegeneration.
The University of Eastern Finland and the University of Helsinki, in collaboration with Aranda Pharma, have published an article titled "An arylthiazyne derivative as a potent inhibitor of lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis, providing neuroprotection in both laboratory and living organisms" in the journal Scientific Reports. The study shows that a condensed benzo[b]thiazine derivative small molecule with an arylthiazine backbone is a potent inhibitor of lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis, providing neuroprotection in vitro and in vivo.
